Brand Foundation & Marketing Strategy

Case Study: Lauren Nikiel Studio

My Role: Marketing Consultant

The Challenge

Lauren had a strong vision for her photography business but struggled to communicate it clearly to the right audience. Without defined positioning, consistent messaging, or structured processes, her marketing felt scattered and hard to prioritize. She needed help translating what she knew into a clear brand foundation she could build from.

The Approach

We started with a discovery session to understand her business, clarify her goals, and identify the gaps. Through follow-up strategy sessions, I helped her narrow her vision, define her target audience, and prioritize what would make the biggest impact. It became clear that what she needed most was a brand and marketing foundation, so I scoped a focused project around those findings and delivered a comprehensive set of tools and frameworks she could use and maintain on her own.

The Work

Lauren came in with a clear passion and a lot of ideas, but no system. In four weeks, she left with a complete brand and marketing foundation built across three consulting sessions and a comprehensive set of deliverables. This included:

  • A brand strategy deck with a defined brand overview, brand essence, differentiators, target audience, positioning statement, messaging pillars, and voice and tone guidelines

  • Social media strategy and content pillars

  • A content planning tool with sample post ideas

  • Six client communication templates covering every stage from first inquiry through gallery delivery and rebooking

  • A client tracking tool to support business organization and growth

  • A website visibility checklist with SEO tips

The Impact

Lauren now has a clear brand identity, consistent messaging, and a system for managing her marketing and client interactions with confidence — without starting from scratch every time.

"Before working with Grace, I was constantly second-guessing my messaging, my pricing, and how to position myself. Grace took my wordy, abstract ideas and turned them into tangible, marketable offerings. She understood my vision and translated it into something concrete that reflected my goals and the heart of what I wanted to create." — Lauren Nikiel, Documentary Family Photographer
